International Karate Tournament Results
Congratulations to our karate instructor, Amadou Niang, and to two of the students from the Shotokan Karate program that he offers here at MCS after school, for earning medals at the international 2012 Junior Olympics and USA Open in Las Vegas. One of our Purple Class students took the gold medal in Kata (forms) and the bronze in Kumite (sparring) in the 6 year old division at the Junior Olympics. One of our Lower Elementary students took the gold medal in Kata (forms) at the USA Open and the bronze in Kata at the Junior Olympics in the 8-9 year old division. This year's tournament hosted more than 2000 competitors from over 50 countries across the world. We are so proud of our students and their sensei!
